D’Arcy Vicknair is delighted to announce Donovan D. Beckwith has joined the firm as an associate attorney. Donovan’s primary practice areas include construction litigation in state and federal courts. Prior to joining D’Arcy Vicknair, Donovan worked in insurance defense litigation, and while still in law school, he became Mediation Certified in Louisiana and Mississippi.
D’Arcy Vicknair is excited to have Donovan join the team and put his litigation and mediation experience to work.
On September 26, 2024, D’Arcy Vicknair founding partner, Adrian D’Arcy, along with associate William Mumfrey, will present a webinar for Lorman Education Services: Understanding AIA Document A312 Bond Forms.
The Webinar will help attendees to define and understand the basic workings of A312 bonds, help identify defenses to claims against a A312 Performance Bond, learn the proper manner to present notice of default under a A312 Performance Bond, and understand the pitfalls associated with not honoring respective obligations under the A312 Bonds.

The annual French Quarter Festival took place this past weekend in New Orleans. Billed as the largest free music festival in the South, the French Quarter Festival attracts hundreds of thousands of people over four days. This year, coinciding with the Festival, was the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction Law Annual Meeting in New Orleans. Along with its esteemed co-sponsors, D’Arcy Vicknair joined with the ABA to sponsor a private hospitality tent at the Festival for all attendees of the Forum. Inside the tent were beverages, private restroom facilities, and a festival guide to answer questions and give directions to different attractions and stages. The hospitality tent was a great success and D’Arcy Vicknair was proud to be a part of it!

D’Arcy Vicknair is pleased to announce William D. Mumfrey has joined the firm as an associate attorney. William’s primary areas of practice are construction and surety litigation. Prior to joining D’Arcy Vicknair, William interned for the Honorable Edwin Lobmard, judge for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal of Louisiana. William had also become licensed as a Certified Public Accountant for the State of Louisiana. With his background as a CPA, William brings accuracy, attention to detail, and problem solving to the practice of construction and surety litigation.

Adrian D’Arcy and Ashley Robinson are honored to be speaking at this year’s New Orleans Bar Association’s Procrastinators Program. Adrian and Ashley will discuss recent Louisiana cases in the field of construction and surety law and the possible import of these decisions to legal practitioners. They will be covering issues such as peremption on claims against sureties under Louisiana’s public works act, the current problems with prematurity of third party indemnity demands, claimants’ recovery under both statutory payment bonds and lien bonds, public bid law, and the expanding negligent professional undertaking claims cause of action.
Join them on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 20 for what should be an informative and entertaining hour of CLE.
