Andrew Vicknair and Ashley Robinson Featured Speakers at the ABA’s 2024 Regional Meeting: Infrastructure From The Ground Up

D’Arcy Vicknair’s founding partner, Andrew Vicknair, and special counsel, Ashley Robinson were featured speakers at the American Bar Association’s Forum on Constrution Law’s 2024 Regional Meeting.

Along with John Lawrence with Infinity Engineering Consultants, Andy and Ashley presented the session entitled “Power,” which examined the unique legal issues invovled in power plant projects.

This one-of-a-kind program, “Infrastructure from the Ground Up: Civil Works Projects for Lawyers,” took place on December 5, 2024, in four different locations country-wide (Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New Orleans).  The New Orleans portion of the event, led by forum Chair, Keith Bergeron, was an exceptional success and a great time was had by all.

   

Ashley Robinson Participates in 2024 Annual Women in Construction Conference in Washington D.C.

Representing D’Arcy Vicknair, Ashley Robinson recently participated in this year’s 2024 Annual Women in Construction Conference, held in our nation’s capital, Washington D.C., with over 600 attendees. The Women in Construction Conference is the East Coast’s premiere forum for education, professional development and networking for women in the build industry. The organization empowers women to continue to grow and achieve success in the community with a “By Women, for Women” motto.

Ashley served as a Session Coordinator for the session entitled “Mind Your Business – Why a strategy on mental health just makes ‘cents.’ ”.

Adrian D’Arcy and Ashley Robinson Speaking at 2024 Procrastinators Program

Ashley Robinson Construction law attorney LouisianaAdrian D’Arcy and Ashley Robinson are honored to be speaking again at this year’s New Orleans Bar Association’s Procrastinators Program. Adrian and Ashley will discuss recent Louisiana cases in the field of construction and surety law and the possible import of these decisions to legal practitioners. They will be covering issues such as construction industry participants’ contract rights, cases regarding judicial interpretations of standard contract provisions, peremption, public bid law, claimants’ rights against sureties, and decisions regarding causes of action for construction industry participants.

D’Arcy Vicknair’s founding partner, Andrew Vicknair, and special counsel, Ashley Robinson will be featured speakers at the American Bar Association’s upcoming 2024 Regional Meeting.

On December 5, 2024, in four convenient locations across the country (Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New Orleans), the ABA Forum on Construction Law will present “Infrastructure from the Ground Up: Civil Works Projects for Lawyers.” Taught by leading industry professionals in each location, this one-of-a-kind program provides a unique opportunity for both new and seasoned construction lawyers, as well as other construction industry participants, to gain a fundamental understanding of the key engineering and construction issues that govern major civil works projects, or “horizontal” construction.

Ashley Robinson Represents D’Arcy Vicknair at the ABA 2024 Fall Leadership Conference in Hawaii

As Vice-Chair of the Design and Construction committee for the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section, Ashley Robinson represented D’Arcy Vicknair at the ABA’s 2024 Real Property, Trust and Estate Law (RPTE) Leadership Conference held last week in Maui, Hawaii.

The RPTE Fall Leadership Meeting is exclusive to Section leaders and provides a unique opportunity for sponsoring companies to connect with more than 200 key members who gather to discuss and make decisions for the new fiscal year. Representing D’Arcy Vicknair, a leading firm in the construction and surety industry, Ashley participated in planning for upcoming webinars, substantive meetings, and other CLE opportunities with the Design and Construction committee. The committee also had the opportunity to learn about the impact of the recent wildfires on Maui and the challenges that Hawaiians face as a result of the wildfires from a legal perspective.

Donovan Beckwith Joins the D’Arcy Vicknair Team as an Associate Attorney

D’Arcy Vicknair is delighted to announce Donovan D. Beckwith has joined the firm as an associate attorney. Donovan’s primary practice areas include construction litigation in state and federal courts. Prior to joining D’Arcy Vicknair, Donovan worked in insurance defense litigation, and while still in law school, he became Mediation Certified in Louisiana and Mississippi.

D’Arcy Vicknair is excited to have Donovan join the team and put his litigation and mediation experience to work.
