Alec W. Szczechowski

Alec Szczechowski graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering in 2015. While at Mississippi State, Alec was a member of the university’s robotics team and nationally competed with other universities in NASA’s Robotic Mining Competition. He graduated magna cum laude and was a President’s Scholar all four years of undergraduate.

Alec graduated from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law cum laude in the top 15% of his class in 2018 with a Juris Doctorate. During his time at Loyola, Alec was a member of the Loyola Maritime Law Journal and was Managing Editor of the Journal during his 3L year. He helped expand the journal’s fields of focus to include aviation topics and wrote the first aviation law related article for the journal titled “Maritime Law and Aviation: Hammering a Plane-Shaped Peg into a Boat-Shaped Hole”, which was published in the Fall 2017 edition. During his 3L year, he worked as a student practitioner in the Stuart H. Smith Youth Justice Clinic with both the Children’s Rights Clinic and the Law and Technology Clinic. During each Summer after his 1L, 2L, and 3L years, Alec clerked for Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, providing various pro bono legal services to Louisiana citizens in need, including consumer law, bankruptcy, tax law, disability, social security, and workman’s compensation issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Alec spent two years focusing on employment discrimination law. He participated in a 4-day jury trial in the Eastern District in front of Judge Guidry in 2022. He has also spent years practicing and focusing in the areas of intellectual property, contracts and contractual negotiations, and general litigation. He took and passed the USPTO Patent Bar in 2021, becoming a nationally registered patent attorney.
