Ashley Robinson Participates in 2026 Annual Women in Construction Conference in Washington D.C.

Representing D’Arcy Vicknair, Ashley Robinson participated in this year’s 2026 Annual Women in Construction Conference, held in our nation’s capital, Washington D.C., last week, on what is the organization’s 20th anniversary! The Women in Construction Conference is the East Coast’s premiere forum for education, professional development and networking for women in the build industry. The organization empowers women to continue to grow and achieve success in the community with a “By Women, for Women” motto.

This year, Ashley served on the Membership Committee and as a Breakout Session Co-Chair, coordinating the seven Breakout Sessions. The Breakout Session topics included: “Communicating Your Way to the Top,” ” Building Influence: Women and Leadership in Construction,” and more.

D’Arcy Vicknair Welcomes Benjamin Sposito to the Team

D’Arcy Vicknair is delighted to announce Benjamin Sposito has joined the firm as an associate attorney. Benjamin’s primary practice areas include construction litigation, surety litigation, and commercial litigation. Benjamin earned his juris doctor degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, along with a Certificate in Law, Technology & Entrepreneurship, after earning his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University.

All of us at D’Arcy Vicknair are excited to see Benjamin use his scientific background to help provide him with a distinct analytical perspective in handling complex legal and technical issues.

Professor D’Arcy Returns to Loyola Law School

Returning once again to shape the future advocates, counselors, and leaders of the legal field, Adrian D’Arcy will be teaching a class in Construction and Surety law at Loyola College of Law.

Adrian is looking forward to embracing the energy a classroom of young aspiring lawyers and imparting his expertise in construction and surety law to help his students reach their goals towards a rewarding future.

Adrian D’Arcy Authors the Louisiana Chapter of the “50 State Guide to Electronic Execution of the General Indemnity Agreement”

The American Bar Association’s Fidelity and Surety Law Committee (ABA FSLC) partnered with the Surety & Fidelity Association of America (SFAA) to recently release the “50 State Guide to Electronic Execution of the General Indemnity Agreement.”

Electronically signed General Agreements of Indemnity (GAI) are generally valid and enforceable across all U.S. states under the federal ESIGN Act and state-level laws like the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act. However, specific enforcement hurdles remain depending on state rules for powers of attorney, notarization, and corporate authority. The ABA FSLC and the SFAA tasked attorneys on this topic from each state to put together this excellent state-by-state summary. D’Arcy Vicknair is proud that the Louisiana chapter was authored by Adrian D’Arcy and thanks Editors-in-Chief, David Harris and Scott Williams and associate editors, SFAA General Counsel Julie Alleyne, Maryam (MJ) Robinson, and Zachary Kurtz for all their hard work in bringing this publication to fruition.

Fresh off his appointment to the Attorney Advisory Council  of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP) Adrian D’Arcy, alongside Ashley Robinson of D’Arcy Vicknair, and longtime friend and colleague, Ryan J. Springer (EMC Insurance Companies), are delighted to present a Virtual Seminar for the NASBP titled “Beyond the Click: Legal Realities of E-Signed Indemnity Agreements,” on April 22, 2026 at 2:00 (Eastern).

                 

Electronic signatures – or as we may know them: the darling of the modern efficiency world. They are quick, efficient, and perhaps a bit too accommodating on occasion. While e-signatures are generally valid under federal and state law, critical provisions—particularly attorney-in-fact and power of attorney clauses—often trigger heightened statutory requirements such as notarization, witnessing, or even prohibitions on electronic execution in certain jurisdictions and when executed electronically may not be self-proving.   Adrian, Ashley, and Ryan look forward to presenting a webinar that combines a legal prospective from outside counsel, a practical prospective from the surety, and a few “war stories.”
